Dr. James Burchett, DDS

Dr. James Burchett is the only trained pediatric dentist in Franklin County, and St. Louis Magazine has recognized him as a Top Dentist for ten years in a row. Through years of special training, he knows how to ease children’s fears of the dentist. And since those anxieties follow many people into adulthood, it’s important to start your child’s relationship with dentistry off right. Dr. Burchett, who’s a father himself, knows how important it is to work within a child’s comfort zone. He wins children over instantly with his soft-spoken, gentle style.

Dr. Burchett is a graduate of The Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001. Before he became a dentist he served for four years as an officer in the Marine Corps after graduating from Truman State University. Following dental school he completed an additional two years of training in pediatric dentistry at Saint Barnabas Hospital in New York. After completion of his pediatric training he entered private practice in Houston, Texas. With a dream of returning to his Missouri roots, he left Houston to open his own practice in February of 2008 in O’Fallon.  Dr. Burchett and his wife have two children, Whitney and Wade and one grandchild, Marley. In his spare time he enjoys fly fishing, lifting weights, and watching “Wild Kratts” with Marley.

Dr. Burchett is member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southwest Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Missouri Dental Association, Missouri Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, St. Louis Dental Society, and the Greater St. Louis Pediatric Dental Society.
